Reddington has always had powerful enemies. And in season 3 episode 17 of The Blacklist, he meets his match in the form of Mr. Solomon. The episode starts with Reddington being ambushed by a team of commandos, and is taken captive. As he is being transported to an unknown location, Reddington is informed that he is a prisoner of Aram’s possibly traitor girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Liz and the task force are scrambling to find Red and trace his captors. When Dembe receives a call from Red's captors, he contacts Liz to track down the phone number and traces it to a farm in West Virginia. The location is remote and heavily fortified, presenting a challenge for Liz and the task force. When they finally reach the farm, they find Red bound in chains and Mr. Solomon expecting them.
While Red is being tortured, Mr. Solomon begins interrogating him, but it quickly becomes clear that he is not interested in obtaining information so much as he is in breaking Red's spirit.
