The Cape was a superhero drama series that aired for one season on NBC from January to March 2011. The show followed the story of Vince Faraday, a police officer in Palm City who, after being framed for a crime he didn't commit, is believed to have died in an explosion. However, Faraday survives and goes into hiding, where he meets a group of circus performers who are also hiding from a dangerous criminal organization known as ARK Corporation.

The leader of the circus, Max Malini, helps Faraday create a new identity as a superhero called The Cape, using a special cloak that gives him the ability to manipulate light and shadows. Faraday uses his new persona to battle crime in Palm City and uncover the truth behind his false accusation and the connection to ARK Corporation.

The show had an ensemble cast featuring David Lyons as Vince Faraday/The Cape, Keith David as Max Malini, Summer Glau as Orwell, and James Frain as villainous billionaire Peter Fleming/Chess. Faraday's wife, Dana, was played by Jennifer Ferrin, while Mena Suvari had a recurring role as a video blogger who becomes a valuable ally to The Cape.

The show was filled with action, intrigue, and superheroics, with The Cape taking on various villains each week and working to uncover the larger conspiracy behind his framing. The show also explored the themes of family, loyalty, and betrayal, with Faraday's relationships with his wife, son, and circus family playing a crucial role in his journey as The Cape.

In addition to the main story arc, the show also featured a number of standalone episodes that highlighted The Cape's adventures and introduced new characters and threats. Some of the notable villains included Scales, an underground crime boss with a reptilian alter ego, and The Lich, a mysterious assassin with a supernatural ability to come back from the dead.

Although the show had a devoted fanbase, it struggled in the ratings and was ultimately cancelled after one season. Nevertheless, The Cape remains a cult favorite among superhero fans for its unique blend of action, drama, and quirky humor, as well as its memorable characters and stylish visuals.

The series was notable for its use of stunt work and practical effects, with real people performing most of the stunts instead of relying on CGI. The show also featured a striking visual style, with bold colors and comic book-inspired imagery.

Overall, The Cape was a fun and entertaining superhero show that had a lot of potential. While it may have been short-lived, its legacy lives on among fans who appreciate its creativity and originality.

The Cape is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (11 episodes). The series first aired on January 9, 2011.
