Ep 12. Sally Is a Girl

Rob and Laura rush to the hospital as Sally prepares to give birth. Rob is nervous and clumsy, forgetting to pack the necessary items, and getting into an argument with a vending machine. Meanwhile, Laura is calmly giving Sally some much-needed support. During this time, she learns of a secret Sally has been keeping from everyone; Sally is not really a boy, but was raised as one since her parents did not want a girl. Laura empathizes with Sally's situation and encourages her to tell Rob and everyone the truth. When Sally's baby is born, it is a girl, and Sally finally reveals her own true identity, much to everyone's surprise. Rob, although shocked, is understanding and supportive of Sally's decision to live as a woman, and assures her that she will always be a welcome part of their group. The episode ends with Laura and Rob marveling at the miracle of childbirth, and reflecting on the changes that can come into people's lives within an instant.
