The British supernatural drama, The Fades, tells the story of a teenager named Paul who experiences frightening dreams. The dreams center around the end of the world and seem to allude to future events. Paul also begins to see the spirits of the dead known as The Fades. The Fades cannot be seen or heard by any normal human, however Paul comes to find that he is an Angelic, who have the capability to sense and experience the Fades.

The series was created by Jack Thorne, who is a BAFTA-award winning writer for radio, television and stage. In 2010 he wrote the six episode supernatural drama which was originally titled Touch. In 2012 the series won the BAFTA-award for best drama series. The show ran only six episodes from September 2011 to October of the same year and aired on BBC Three and BBC HD. One of the cast of the show confirmed that it had not been commissioned for a second season.

The show focused on Paul getting stuck in the middle of a clash between the Angelics and the Fades, the spirits of the dead who were once human. These spirits became trapped on earth because they were not allowed to pass into the afterlife. This fact is a catalyst for their caustic and resentful behaviors towards the living. Paul, who is played by Iain De Caestecker, first comes across the Fades when he meets Neil, who tries to help teach Paul about who he is and what role he will play in the coming battle between the living and the dead.

The Fades was produced by BBC and distributed for DVD in the United States by BBC Warner. It was directed by Farren Blackburn for the first three episodes and then by Tom Shankland for the remaining three. Each show ran 55 minutes and even though the episodes were well received, they never reached one million viewers.

The Fades is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (6 episodes). The series first aired on January 14, 2012.
