After several episodes of dealing with the aftermath of the particle accelerator explosion and the emergence of metahumans in Central City, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) faces a new challenge in episode 10 of season 1, "Sight Unseen".

The episode begins with a mysterious figure stealing a high-tech prototype from Mercury Labs. Though the thief is invisible, Dr. Tina McGee (played by Amanda Pays, reprising her role from the original 1990 Flash TV series) is able to identify the culprit as a former employee named Kyle Nimbus. Nimbus, who was exposed to the particle accelerator's dark matter and gained the power to turn himself into poisonous gas, was presumed dead after an encounter with The Flash earlier in the season. However, it turns out that he actually survived and has returned with a vengeance.

Meanwhile, Barry is dealing with his own issues. His best friend Iris (Candice Patton) has just broken up with her boyfriend Eddie (Rick Cosnett), who happens to be a police detective and Barry's coworker. Barry has been hiding his feelings for Iris for years, but now that she's single, he's struggling with whether or not to tell her how he really feels. On top of that, he's still trying to figure out how to use his super speed effectively and improve his crime-fighting skills.

Barry and his team, which includes Dr. Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), are able to track down Nimbus and learn that he's planning to release a deadly poison gas at a train station during rush hour. However, Nimbus has coated himself in a special substance that renders him invisible and immune to The Flash's attacks. This creates a major challenge for the team, as they need to figure out a way to stop Nimbus without being able to see or touch him.

To make matters worse, Barry's visual cortex is temporarily impaired after being exposed to a "rhodium flare", which complicates his ability to use his superspeed and adds an extra layer of difficulty to the already daunting task of stopping Nimbus.

As the countdown to the gas release approaches, Barry and his team race against the clock to find a solution. They enlist the help of a scientist named Dr. Light (Malese Jow), who has developed a weapon that can disrupt Nimbus's invisibility. However, Light is reluctant to contribute due to a previous encounter with The Flash that left her shaken.

In the midst of all this, Barry is also grappling with his feelings for Iris and struggling to find a way to tell her how he feels. He confides in Caitlin, who advises him to be honest with Iris and not let fear hold him back.

In the end, Barry and his team are able to use Dr. Light's weapon to neutralize Nimbus and stop him from releasing the gas. Iris also reconciles with Eddie, leaving Barry to continue to keep his feelings hidden. However, the episode ends with a cliffhanger as the team discovers a secret room in STAR Labs that contains a hidden message from Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), further deepening the mystery surrounding his true identity and motivations.

Overall, "Sight Unseen" is a thrilling episode that showcases The Flash's resourcefulness and determination in the face of a seemingly unbeatable foe. It also adds a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing story arc surrounding Harrison Wells and his connection to the particle accelerator explosion.
