In the first episode of The Flintstones, titled The Flintstone Flyer, we are introduced to the main characters of the show - Fred, Wilma, Barney, and Betty, who all live in the fictional town of Bedrock. The episode begins with Fred Flintstone, who is a brontosaurus crane operator at the local quarry, leaving work and heading home. He is excited to go out bowling with his good friend Barney Rubble later that night.

However, when Fred gets home, he discovers that his wife Wilma has spent all of their money on a new dress, meaning they can no longer afford to go bowling. This upsets Fred, who storms out of the house without giving Wilma a chance to explain.

As Fred starts walking aimlessly around town, he comes across an ad for a new car. The salesman tells him that it is a "foot-powered car" and Fred excitedly buys it, thinking it will be a great way to get around town. However, as he starts driving it home, he realizes that it is extremely difficult to operate and he ends up crashing it into a tree.

Feeling embarrassed and defeated, Fred decides to take a shortcut home through a construction site. He sees a small airplane that has been left behind and decides to use it as a means of transportation. Fred manages to get the plane off the ground and starts flying around, but he soon realizes that he doesn't know how to land the plane.

As Fred is flying around, he accidentally flies over his own house and Wilma sees him from the ground. Thinking he is in trouble, she calls the police, who quickly chase after Fred in their own planes. The chase scene is both comical and action-packed, with Fred trying to escape the police and eventually crash-landing the plane in his own backyard.

In the end, Fred is arrested and taken to jail, but Wilma comes to bail him out. She explains that she only bought the dress because she wanted to look nice for him and promises to be more careful with their money in the future. The episode ends with Fred and Wilma reconciling and the two of them dancing in their living room.

The Flintstone Flyer is a hilarious and entertaining introduction to the world of The Flintstones, showcasing the show's unique blend of prehistoric settings and modern technology. The episode also sets up some of the major themes that would become a staple of the show - namely, Fred's love of bowling and the ongoing rivalry between him and Barney. Overall, it is a lighthearted and enjoyable start to this classic animated series.
