Ep 7. Highs & Lows

In "Highs & Lows," the seventh episode of The Fosters' fourth season, the Adams Foster family is still navigating the aftermath of Callie's decision to testify against the crooked foster care system. As tensions run high, the family struggles to stay on the same page and keep their secrets from leaking out.

The episode opens with Callie and AJ working on their senior project, a video about their experiences in the foster care system. They film footage of their group home, and a fellow foster kid tells them about his own struggles with the system. Callie is moved by his story and feels even more determined to fight for change.

Meanwhile, Stef and Lena are trying to work out their own issues. Lena is still hurt by Stef's decision to lie to her about her job offer at the college, and the tension between them is palpable. Stef tries to make amends by planning a surprise date night, but Lena is still hesitant to forgive her.

Jude is also going through a tough time, as he's been caught smoking weed with his friends. He's scared of what Stef and Lena will say, but Jesus convinces him to come clean before they find out from someone else.

As the family comes together for dinner, tensions start to simmer. Mariana is upset that she wasn't invited to a party, while Jesus is dealing with his own personal issues. Callie can sense that something's off and tries to talk to Jude about it, but he brushes her off.

Later, the family attends a party together, but things take a turn for the worse when Jude gets caught vaping. The situation quickly escalates, and Stef and Lena are forced to intervene. Back at home, they ground Jude and try to talk to him about why he's been acting out.

Meanwhile, Callie is dealing with her own problems. She's been given a difficult task at work and is struggling to keep up. When she tries to confide in AJ, he brushes her off and tells her he's busy with his own projects. Callie feels even more alone and unsure of herself.

As the episode comes to a close, tensions within the family are still high. Callie and AJ talk things out and come to a better understanding, while Stef and Lena begin to work through their own issues. But it's clear that there are still plenty of highs and lows to come for the Adams Foster family.
