"The Gates" was a supernatural drama series that aired on ABC in 2010. Created by Grant Scharbo and Richard Hatem, the show followed the lives of the residents of a gated community called The Gates. The show stars Rhona Mitra as Claire Radcliff, the new police chief of The Gates, and Frank Grillo as Nick Monohan, her husband and the former detective-turned-security-chief of the community.

The Gates is a seemingly idyllic neighborhood located just outside of Chicago. The residents of The Gates live in luxury homes and have access to exclusive amenities like a country club, a golf course, and a private school for their children. However, as the series unfolds, we soon see that the community is not as perfect as it seems.

The show centers on the Radcliff family, with Claire being the main protagonist. Claire and her family have just moved to The Gates, and she is tasked with cleaning up the police department, which has had a number of scandals and problems in the past. As Claire adjusts to her new role, she starts to uncover the dark secrets that lurk beneath the surface of the community.

One of the main secrets that Claire discovers is that many of the residents of The Gates are not human. They are various supernatural creatures like vampires, werewolves, and witches. These supernatural beings, referred to as "The Others," have established rules and boundaries to coexist peacefully with the human residents of The Gates. However, these rules and boundaries are often challenged and broken, leading to conflict and danger for everyone involved.

Along with the supernatural aspect, there are also numerous scandals and secrets being kept within the human community of The Gates. Affairs, betrayals, and hidden agendas are just a few of the things that the characters have to contend with as the series progresses.

The Gates also features a strong cast of supporting characters. There is Dylan, a teenage werewolf who falls for a human girl named Andie, Charlie, a vampire who is struggling to overcome his addiction to blood, and Devon, a young witch who is exploring her powers and trying to discover her place in the community.

Throughout the series, the characters have to navigate the complex web of relationships and alliances that exist within The Gates. They also have to deal with various threats, both from within and outside the community. There are conflicts between the human and supernatural residents, as well as external threats like rival supernatural groups and government agencies trying to uncover the truth about The Gates.

Overall, "The Gates" was a unique and intriguing series that blended the supernatural with the typical drama of a gated community. The show had a strong cast of characters, complex relationships, and a rich mythology that kept audiences hooked throughout its run. While it only lasted for one season, "The Gates" left a lasting impression on viewers who appreciated its fresh take on the supernatural genre.

The Gates is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (14 episodes). The series first aired on June 6, 2010.
