Ep 13. The Other Smother

Beverly, the overbearing and smothering mother of the Goldberg family, decides to take a job as a substitute teacher at her children's school in order to keep a closer eye on them. She quickly becomes involved in their lives, much to their embarrassment and frustration. Meanwhile, Murray, the father of the family, struggles to find a way to bond with his teenage son, Adam. When he tries to teach him how to drive, it becomes clear that the two have very different styles of learning and communication. As Beverly's presence becomes increasingly intrusive, the other students at the school begin to rebel against her, causing her to question whether her parenting style is causing more harm than good. Ultimately, the episode explores the challenges of parents trying to connect with their children, and the importance of finding a balance between love and control.
