Ep 2. Female Problems

Doug and Carrie deal with the uncomfortable realities that come with women's health when Carrie gets her period. Doug is thrown off guard when he discovers that Carrie keeps pads in a secret compartment in their bathroom and struggles to adapt to the new routine that comes with her monthly cycle.

Meanwhile, Arthur is deep in debt and resorts to desperate measures. He takes over the home shopping network pitch for a lotion meant to reduce cellulite, in an attempt to pay off his debts. Despite his lack of knowledge about the product, Arthur taps into his natural flair for salesmanship and ends up selling way more than expected.

Back on the home front, Deacon and Kelly drop by and Doug enlists Deacon's help in seeking advice on how to handle Carrie's period. Deacon suggests going on a special shopping trip with Carrie and buying her favorite snacks and a few girly films to make her feel better. Doug initially bristles at the idea of a "girly" movie night, but eventually caves in to the pressure.

At the store, Doug inadvertently winds up buying some 'feminine hygiene products' which leads to some uncomfortable laughs in the checkout line. Carrie is touched by Doug's willingness to make her feel better, but unbeknownst to her, Doug is secretly terrified of the 'curse' and even feels like it might be contagious.

Once they're finally alone, Doug's fears come to a head when he discovers a mysterious red stain on his shirt, and instantly assumes it to be Carrie's period blood. He panics and begins frantically washing his clothes and himself. Carrie is ultimately amused by his overreaction and jokes that now that he's had his period, they can really communicate better.

Overall, the episode is a humorous take on the awkward realities that come with women's health, as well as a commentary on gender roles and expectations within relationships. Carrie and Doug's dynamic plays out in a satisfyingly relatable way, and the addition of Arthur's subplot adds a nice touch of levity to the mix.
