Ep 1. A Breath of Fresh Air

It was a new beginning for the Avatar, Korra, as she began her journey to restore balance in the world. In season 3, titled "Change," the story picked up several months after the defeat of the infamous Red Lotus, a criminal organization that sought to overthrow the world leaders and establish an anarchistic order. With the bad guys defeated and peace restored, it seemed like Korra had finally earned the break she deserved. But, as it often happens in the world of Avatar, things were not that simple.

In the first episode of season 3, titled "A Breath of Fresh Air," we see Korra in a contemplative mode, struggling to connect with her spiritual side and the Avatar State. She is still haunted by the traumatic events of the past, and the physical and emotional scars from the battles with Amon and Unalaq are still fresh. To make matters worse, her mentor, Tenzin, is preoccupied with leading the newly formed Air Nation and has little time for her personal training.

Korra decides to take matters into her own hands and sets out for a solo trip to the Earth Kingdom, hoping to find some inner peace and inspiration. She ends up in a vibrant city called Zaofu, home of the Metal Clan, a group of metalbenders led by Suyin Beifong, Toph's daughter. Unlike most cities in the Earth Kingdom, Zaofu is a hub of innovation and progress, embraced technological advancements and artistic expression. Korra is immediately impressed by the city's beauty and vitality, and it doesn't take long for her to make new friends.

However, as always, trouble is just around the corner. A group of anarchists called the Earth Queen's army has been terrorizing the city, harassing the citizens, and threatening to bring down the Metal Clan. Their leader, a charismatic and sinister figure named Zaheer, has a mysterious agenda and seems to know a lot about the Avatar and her whereabouts. Korra soon realizes that this new threat may be even more dangerous than the previous ones, and she must use all her skills and knowledge to stop them before it's too late.

Meanwhile, back in Republic City, the other members of Team Avatar are also dealing with their own struggles. Mako is now a police officer, but he finds the job unfulfilling and mundane. Asami is running her own company, Future Industries, but is struggling to keep it afloat and fend off her competitors. Bolin is now an actor, but his breakthrough role in a popular mover only brings him more unwanted attention and pressure. All of them miss Korra dearly and are eager to hear from her.

But instead of a reassuring message from their friend, they receive a distressing one. Korra informs them of the new threat posed by the Earth Queen's army and tells them to be prepared for any outcome. The team has no choice but to come to terms with the fact that their lives are once again about to take a drastic turn, and they must prepare for the worst.

The first episode of season 3 of The Legend of Korra sets the tone for a thrilling and action-packed adventure, full of twists and turns. It also establishes the show's major theme of "change," as each of the characters faces new challenges and undergoes personal growth. The episode is a testament to the show's ability to blend humor, drama, and social commentary seamlessly and introduces some of the most memorable villains in the Avatar universe.
