Ep 6. Dr. Arnold Goes to Washington

The Little Couple season 4 episode 6, "Dr. Arnold Goes to Washington," follows the lives of Bill Klein and Jen Arnold as they work, travel and live their lives as a married couple. In this particular episode, Bill Klein is headed to Washington D.C. to advocate for medical research funding on behalf of those with skeletal dysplasia, a condition he and his wife both have. Jen is staying behind in Houston to work at her hospital and care for their foster daughter, Zoey.

The episode opens with Bill packing for his trip to Washington D.C. Bill is extremely nervous about speaking in front of lawmakers, but he knows that he must do it to promote awareness and funding for skeletal dysplasia research. Jen assures him that he can do it, and that she's proud of him for taking this on. The couple's personal assistant, Candace, arrives to help Bill pack and make arrangements for his trip.

Once Bill arrives in Washington, he meets up with a group of other advocates who also have skeletal dysplasia. The group spends the day meeting with legislators and speaking out about their condition. Bill is amazed by the support he receives from the lawmakers he meets, and he is inspired to keep fighting for research funding.

Back in Houston, Jen is dealing with a lot on her own. Her job at the hospital is super demanding, and she's struggling to keep up with everything while also caring for Zoey. The day-to-day stress is taking a toll on her, and she confides in her colleague, Dr. Dai, about her struggles. Dr. Dai offers her some advice and encouragement, and Jen begins to feel a little bit better.

Meanwhile, Bill is continuing to lobby in Washington D.C. He and the other advocates meet with multiple lawmakers, including one who is very interested in their cause. Bill is excited and hopeful, but he is also exhausted from the long day of meetings.

When he returns to Houston, he and Jen have a heart-to-heart about his trip and her struggles at work. They both agree that they need to find a way to balance their professional lives with their personal lives, and they vow to support each other through it all.

The episode ends with the couple spending time with Zoey, who brings a smile to their faces despite all the craziness in their lives. They both realize how lucky they are to have each other and to be able to make a difference in the world.
