Ep 3. Margaret Thatcher

Mindy Lahiri’s love life has never been her forte and in the latest season of The Mindy Project, she continues to navigate through different relationships and dates. However, things take a turn for the bizarre when the money actually appears in her bank account!

This newfound wealth brings Mindy a sense of liberation and a delusional sense of grandeur which leads her to start making extravagant purchases like designer clothes, expensive wine, and a Tiffany & Co. ring that she absolutely cannot afford. Her new-found wealth reflects poorly in her personal life as well, as she prioritizes buying things for herself over spending quality time with her little son, Leo. This episode demonstrates the perils of sudden wealth and the true meaning of “if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.”

At the same time, Mindy’s ex-boyfriend and co-worker Jody is dealing with the aftermath of his break-up with his girlfriend and finds himself drawn to Mindy once again. He makes his feelings known to Mindy and she’s initially taken aback by the sudden attention. The two eventually kiss but the moment is later disrupted by the discovery of Mindy’s deceitful earnings.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Dr. Anna Ziev, a new hire who’s somewhere between a complete lunatic and a genius, takes herself too seriously and invades the personal spaces of other doctors in a bid to get to know them which leads to some hilarious misunderstandings.

Overall, season 5 episode 3 of The Mindy Project, “Margaret Thatcher” is a delightful and hilarious watch for fans of the show. The episode delivers a perfect blend of Mindy’s trademark humor and some poignant moments that tug at the heartstrings.
