Ep 2. Strangers

As the second episode of season five, "Strangers" follows the group of survivors from the first episode after they escape from Terminus. The episode starts off with a slow pace, as the group slowly makes their way through the woods towards an unknown destination. Rick is on edge, as he's still reeling from the trauma of the past few seasons, and he's suspicious of anyone he comes across. However, they soon stumble upon a peaceful-looking priest (played by Seth Gilliam) who offers them sanctuary in his church.

As Rick and the others settle into their new surroundings, they begin to let their guard down a little bit, enjoying the first real moments of peace they've had in a long time. However, things quickly take a turn for the worst when they realize they're not alone in the church. Someone, or something, has been holed up there before they arrived, and they don't seem too happy about the newcomer's arrival.

As tensions mount, the group begins to split up and search the church for the mysterious stranger. Meanwhile, Carol takes on a leadership role and starts to push her own agenda, which causes some friction with Rick. Daryl and Carol share a touching moment when she confesses to him that she killed Lizzie, and Daryl comforts her in his own gruff way.

The episode takes a suspenseful turn when they discover a trap door in the floor of the church, leading to a dark, underground room. As they descend into the unknown, the tension between the characters begins to mount, as they realize they may not make it out of this place alive.

Overall, "Strangers" is a gripping, emotional episode that sets up the rest of the season in a big way. It's a bit slower-paced than the premiere, but it's packed with suspense and character development. The introduction of the mysterious priest adds an interesting wrinkle to the story, and the underground room scene is one of the most intense and spooky moments in the history of the show.
