Fox Cancels 'X Factor'; Simon Cowell Goes Home

The crowded roster of network singing competition shows got a little tighter this week, as Fox announced the cancellation of "The X Factor." That leaves "American Idol" as the only singing show left on Fox and show creator Simon Cowell with no reason to stay in the United States. The announcement comes after three years of steadily declining ratings, during which the show failed to click with a wide audience or produce much in the way of commercially successful new talent.

Though there was some concern that Demi Lovato might not return to “X Factor” after Lovato tweeted how much she would miss her co-stars, it has been confirmed that Lovato will definitely be returning for the show’s third season! "I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on 'The X Factor,'' Lovato said in a statement. Ke$ha Is Getting Her Own Show. Seriously.

Yup. You read that correctly. Apparently now they really, really will make a reality show out of anything. This time it’ll be singer and “X Factor” guest host Ke$ha, whose real name is Kesha Sebert (shocking, I know, to realize that the money symbol is not actually inscribed on her birth certificate) appearing on screen. MTV will be airing “Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life” this April. “I’m gonna have my own show b*tches! GIT READY” the Tik Tok singer tweeted.

Is Harry Styles Trying to Get on Taylor Swift's Good Side?

Taylor Swift has been getting a lot of negative attention lately—like the quip from Tina Fey and Amy Pohler warning her away from Michael J. Fox’s son, for example. It doesn’t help that now she is garnering a reputation as a “serial dater.” After her split with One’ Direction’s Harry Styles, Swift also hinted via Twitter that she probably has some songs in the mix about him… a whopping five, says a source. Another source is saying that one more celebrity has a few beads of sweat over the breakup… band founder and manager Simon Cowell! The"X Factor" judge is reportedly forcing Styles to try and mend ties with Swift, before bad things happen.

Britney Spears Announces She Is Leaving 'X Factor,' Fiance

The world of Britney Spears is rocking right now—the star has released two big bombshells, news-wise, this week. First, that she will not be returning to “X Factor,” a fact she broke with this statement: “I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.

Is Britney Spears Getting Booted From 'X Factor?'

It seems like everyone’s either jumping ship for the upcoming season of “X Factor,” or getting pushed off the side of the boat whether they like it or not. L.A. Reid has already announced that he will not be returning, while Demi Lovato teased fans with tweets that made it sound as if she would not be coming back. Is Britney Spears the latest on the chopping block? News comes in following the season 2 finale that Spears may not be invited back. An insider for the show says, “Britney will get the boot.

Is Demi Lovato Leaving 'X Factor?'

Demi Lovato has stirred up questions about whether or not she will be staying on “X Factor” next season after a string of Twitter commentary that made it sound as if she is out of the game. Lovato said she was, “thankful for this experience [she] had on The X Factor USA this year,” and added little good byes to each judge. “I’m really really really gonna miss working with @LA_Reid. So many laughs and inside jokes. Truly blessed to know you LA. Love you so much.

Which Judge Quit 'X Factor?'

Judge and mentor on “X Factor,” L.A. Reid, has announced that he will not be returning to the show next year. "I have decided that I will not return to The X Factor next year. I have to go back and I have a company to run that I've kind of neglected and it saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit." Reid says that he feels that he needs to return to being the chairman and CEO of Epic Records. "It was a nice break,” he told Access Hollywood.

Celebrities React to Death of Jenni Rivera

Horrible news today, as singer Jenni Rivera’s downed plane is found, with no survivors. Celebrities are taking to their Twitters to express their sadness and sympathy over the tragedy. "X Factor" host Mario Lopez said this: "Spent some time with Jenni Rivera recently.

Mario Lopez Marries!

Ladies, the last of the dancin’ men is off the market. Mario Lopez, smiley, toe-tapping host on “Extra” and “X Factor,” has married his girlfriend of four years, actress Courtney Mazza. The two met in 2008 while working on Broadway’s “A Chorus Line” together. Lopez, 39, and his lovely lady exchanged hand-written vows beneath a beach gazebo in Punta Mita, Mexico on Saturday. The location was also where Lopez popped the initial question.
