Total Drama Island is an animated comedy series that was developed and produced by Teletoon, Fresh TV Incorporated. Each 30 minute episode revolves around a reality show competition between teenagers and each contestant has a very unique personality trait that is highlighted in the show.

The series is set on a fictional island near Muskoka, Ontario and the competition is held at Camp Wawanakwa. Each contestant will compete to avoid being voted off the island by their competitors. The one who survives until the end will win $100,000 dollars. The game is hosted by Chris McLean and he is assisted by Chef Hatchet, who is also the camps cook.

There are 22 contestants: Beth, Bridgette, Cody, Courtney, DJ, Duncan, Eva, Ezekiel, Geoff, Gwen, Harold, Heather, Izzy, Justin, Katie, Leshawna, Lindsay, Noah, Owen, Sadie, Trent and Tyler. After the first night the contestants are divided into two teams, the Screaming Gophers and the Killer Bass. Every episode includes the two teams going head to head in competitions with the winning team having immunity from being voted off.

The team that loses must gather at the nightly campfire where they must choose what team member will be leaving the island. The voting is done in secrecy and the host passes out marshmallows to the team members that are not getting voted off. The team member that is voted off is then made to walk down the Dock of Shame where the Boat of Losers is waiting to remove them from the island.

A twist is thrown in when the teams are dismembered and every competitor is competing on their own. Only the winner of that competition will have immunity and everyone else can be voted off. The competitions continue until there are only two players left and the grand finale will be what determines who the big winner is.
