Tripping the Rift is an animated science-fiction sitcom that ran on Starz from 2004 to 2007. It chronicles the adventures of the crew of the spaceship Jupiter 42, led by the cranky, foul-mouthed captain Chode McBlob (voiced by Stephen Root). The rest of the crew consists of the sexy android Six (voiced by Carmen Electra), the uptight robot T'nuk (voiced by Maurice LaMarche), the ditsy sexpot Bunny (voiced by Jenny McCarthy), and the voluptuous reptilian woman Darph Bobo (voiced by Gina Gershon).

The show is set in a future where space travel has become commonplace, and the galaxy is ruled by an evil emperor named Gus. Chode and his crew are constantly getting into trouble as they travel from planet to planet, encountering bizarre aliens, engaging in interstellar battles, and indulging in all sorts of hedonistic activities.

Despite its outward appearance as a crude, juvenile comedy, Tripping the Rift is actually a clever satire that pokes fun at science-fiction tropes and Hollywood conventions. The show is filled with parodies of popular science-fiction franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek, and The Matrix, as well as humorous riffs on various aspects of pop culture.

One of the show's most distinctive features is its animation style. Tripping the Rift was one of the first animated series to extensively use motion capture technology, which gives the characters a lifelike quality that is rare in animation. This, combined with the show's generally high production values, makes Tripping the Rift a visually impressive series.

Another notable aspect of Tripping the Rift is its raunchy humor. The show is filled with sexual innuendo, profanity, and graphic violence, which may not be to everyone's taste. However, for those who enjoy this sort of humor, Tripping the Rift delivers in spades.

The characters on Tripping the Rift are a diverse and memorable bunch. Captain Chode is a cantankerous ne'er-do-well who is constantly looking for a shortcut to fame and fortune. Six is an android who is constantly being objectified by the male crew members, much to her chagrin. T'nuk is a prudish robot who is disgusted by the antics of her shipmates. Bunny is a bimbo who is always looking for attention, and Darph Bobo is a power-hungry villain who is constantly scheming to overthrow Gus.

Despite their differences, the crew of the Jupiter 42 share a deep bond that is tested by the various challenges they face in each episode. Whether they are facing down a gang of space pirates or trying to stop Darph Bobo's latest scheme, the crew of the Jupiter 42 always have each other's backs.

Overall, Tripping the Rift is a funny, irreverent, and visually stunning series that should appeal to science-fiction fans who have a taste for crude humor. While it may not be for everyone, those who are willing to give it a chance are likely to find it an entertaining and memorable viewing experience.

Tripping the Rift is a series that is currently running and has 3 seasons (39 episodes). The series first aired on March 4, 2004.
