Ep 7. In The Beginning

In The Beginning, the seventh episode of True Blood's fifth season, picks up where the previous episode left off - with the newly turned vampire, Tara, barely clinging onto life after being shot by Debbie. While Sookie and Lafayette try to keep her alive, the rest of Bon Temps is dealing with the aftermath of the Vampire Authority's attack on the town.

As the residents of Bon Temps clean up the mess left behind by the Authority, Jason finds himself questioning his allegiance to the anti-vampire group, the Light of Day. Meanwhile, Bill and Eric use their newfound powers as Authority members to try and take down their leader, Roman.

Back at Merlotte's, Sam is struggling to come to terms with the fact that he's a shifter and that his biological parents abandoned him as a baby. He turns to Luna for comfort, but their reconciliation is cut short when Emma is kidnapped by the anti-supernatural group, the Obamas.

The episode also delves deeper into Terry's past, as he's haunted by the memories of a mission he and his fellow soldiers carried out in Iraq. In an effort to ease his guilt, Terry sets out to find the one surviving member of their unit, who's now living in Louisiana.

In The Beginning is a jam-packed episode of True Blood, with plenty of action and drama to keep fans on the edge of their seats. With new plotlines developing and old ones coming to a head, it's clear that the season is building towards an explosive finale.
