Ep 14. Double Play

Cooper is still recovering from being shot by Earle and is visited by the one-armed man, who tells him that he must "Go now!" The one-armed man disappears and Cooper realizes that he must leave the hospital immediately.

Meanwhile, Shelly is upset that Andrew has disappeared and fears that something has happened to him. Pete assures her that he is probably just off on one of his adventures and will be back soon.

At the police station, Cooper tells Truman that he needs to leave town for a while and that he has a plan to capture Earle. He asks Truman to gather all of the evidence from his (Cooper's) office and meet him at Glastonbury Grove the following night.

Ben meets with Jean Renault and tries to cut a deal to get his brother Jerry out of prison. Jean tells him that he must pay $1 million in exchange for Jerry's freedom.

At the Roadhouse, Bobby leads a group of men in an impromptu song for Laura Palmer. James and Donna watch from a distance and share a moment of sadness.

In the morning, Cooper finds a note from Audrey indicating that she has gone to the Twin Peaks Savings and Loan. He goes there and finds her waiting for him. They discuss their feelings for each other and agree to work together to bring down Earle.

At the Great Northern, Ben meets with Catherine and Josie to discuss the deal with Jean Renault. They decide to frame Josie for the murder of Thomas Eckhardt in order to get her out of the way.

Truman meets with Cooper at Glastonbury Grove and they gear up to capture Earle. However, when they arrive, they find that Earle has already arrived and is waiting for them. A game of chess commences, with Cooper offering himself as the prize for the winner. The game ends in a stalemate, and Earle flees into the woods.

At the diner, Nadine has a vision of her future as a successful businesswoman. She tells Ed and Norma that she no longer wants to be with Ed and that he should be with Norma.

At the Great Northern, Catherine and Pete work to set up Josie for the murder of Thomas Eckhardt. Josie arrives and finds the evidence planted in her room. She tries to flee, but is shot and killed by someone unknown.

The episode ends with Cooper receiving a note from Annie Blackburn, a woman he met in Pittsburgh. The note tells him that she has arrived in Twin Peaks and that she is waiting for him at the convent. Cooper sets off to meet her, unaware of the danger that awaits him.
