Ep 4. The Flavin' and the Mavin'

Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen) gets into an awkward situation with his new girlfriend, Michelle (Liz Vassey), after they plan to spend the night together. They both believe that the other person is more experienced in bed, and this leads to a lot of insecurity and anxiety between them.

Meanwhile, Alan (Jon Cryer) is focused on his new job as a chiropractor and is trying to build up his client base. However, things are not going well for him, as he is having a hard time attracting patients. His one and only client, Herb (Ryan Stiles), is a hypochondriac who frequents his office for nonexistent ailments.

In an effort to drum up business, Alan enlists Charlie's help and together they come up with a scheme to advertise his services in a unique way: by creating a fake health guru named Dr. Goodman and having him endorse Alan's practice. However, their plan quickly backfires when the real Dr. Goodman (Hugh Dane) catches wind of what they're doing and takes legal action against them.

As this is going on, Jake (Angus T. Jones) is struggling in school and is in danger of failing his classes. Alan and Charlie try to help him with his homework, but their efforts only make things worse. They eventually turn to an unexpected source for help - Berta (Conchata Ferrell), the family's housekeeper.

Berta takes Jake under her wing and helps him with his studies in a way that is uniquely her own. Her tough love approach may not be conventional, but it gets results and Jake begins to improve. However, this also leads to an unexpected bonding moment between Berta and Alan, who realize they have more in common than they thought.

As the episode comes to a close, all of the characters are dealing with their own problems, but they're doing so with the help of each other. Charlie and Michelle work through their insecurities, Alan finds a new client, Jake gets his grades up, and Berta shows her softer side. It's another day in the wacky world of Two and a Half Men.
