Ep 7. Going Home

As the title suggests, the seventh episode of season 2 of Under the Dome, "Going Home," is all about characters trying to return to their old lives. Barbie, for one, sets off on a journey back to Zenith, the city where he grew up, in order to figure out who's behind the disastrous dome. Meanwhile, Junior, who had been incarcerated prior to the dome's descent, dreams of returning home to be reunited with his father. Not everyone is happy about the prospect of leaving Chester's Mill, however - Julia, for instance, has grown to love the community and is hesitant to give it up.

As usual, there's plenty of intrigue to go around, as Big Jim continues to manipulate events from behind the scenes. He and Rebecca come up with a scheme to use a magnet to alter the course of the dome, but it proves to be a risky endeavor. Not only do they risk electrocuting themselves in the process, but the attempt could also have disastrous effects on the dome's energy source.

Meanwhile, Norrie and Joe are shocked to discover that Melanie, the former love interest of Barbie who seemingly came back to life after being killed years earlier, is actually a projection from the dome's energy source. They begin to question the very nature of the dome and its purpose, wondering if it's possible to communicate with the seemingly sentient energy that created it.

As all of this is going on, the characters continue to grapple with their own personal issues. Junior's attempts to return home are complicated by his ongoing hallucinations, which seem to be getting worse. And Julia, still grieving the loss of her husband, is torn between her love for Chester's Mill and her desire to move on.

Overall, "Going Home" is an emotionally charged episode full of drama, action, and surprising revelations.
