In When Calls the Heart season 2 episode 1, titled Trials of the Heart, Elizabeth Thatcher returns to Hope Valley after spending the summer in Hamilton with her family. Elizabeth also finds herself in a difficult situation when she is asked to testify in a trial that could send one of her students' parents to jail.
Despite the challenges they face, the residents of Hope Valley band together to support each other. They work to overcome their trials of the heart and emerge stronger than ever before.
