Wilfred is a comedy television series that aired on IFC from 2007 to 2010. The show was created by Jason Gann, Adam Zwar, and Tony Rogers, and was based on the Australian series of the same name. The series starred Jason Gann as the title character, an anthropomorphic dog named Wilfred, and Adam Zwar as his owner, Adam. Cindy Waddingham also had a recurring role as Adam's neighbor, Anne.

The show followed the adventures of Adam and Wilfred as they got into various misadventures and shenanigans. Despite the fact that Wilfred was a dog, Adam was the only one who saw him as such. To everyone else, Wilfred appeared as a regular dog. This made for some interesting situations as Adam tried to explain Wilfred's behavior to others.

Throughout the show, Wilfred acted as Adam's conscience and offered him guidance in his life. Despite his crude and abrasive personality, Wilfred was also a loyal companion to Adam and often protected him from harm.

The show was known for its offbeat humor and surreal elements. Many of the episodes featured dream sequences or hallucinations that blurred the line between reality and fantasy. The show also explored themes of mental illness and existential despair, as Adam struggled to find his place in the world.

Despite its often dark subject matter, Wilfred was also a very funny show. Jason Gann's performance as the titular character was a standout, and his chemistry with Adam Zwar was one of the show's biggest strengths. The show also featured a talented supporting cast, including Cynthia Waddingham as the kooky neighbor Anne.

One of the show's biggest strengths was its ability to balance comedy and drama. The show could be silly and ridiculous one moment, and then poignant and heartbreaking the next. This made for a unique viewing experience that kept audiences coming back for more.

Overall, Wilfred was a unique and engaging television series that left a lasting impression on its fans. Its blend of humor, surrealism, and drama made it unlike anything else on television at the time. It's no wonder that the show has become a cult classic in the years since its original airing.
