On many occasions, reality exceeds fiction, but this is not one of those exceptions. Women Behind Bars, is an extraordinary TV show, that tells true life stories of females of different racial origins; these women were convicted for committing unbelievable crimes and in some cases, chilling atrocities narrated by themselves in a conducted interview format, including off narration and dramatization of scenes. It includes different seasons and episodes (in which two prisoners can express their versions of the story and opinions).

It is a surrealistic program in which spectators will be able to take a glance at life in jail, the motives that moved women to commit homicide, the consequences for being behind the bars and possible feelings of regret. Some of them, confessed openly to murders but most, still claim to be innocent.

These women, without a doubt, changed the course of their own lives and the life of the victims' family and friends. It is a fact, that they were judged by the nature of the crime that they were accused of, and they will be behind the walls for long time. Actually, a lot of them will never return to their homes alive.

Within the victims are people of different gender, age, beliefs and economic situation; it could be husbands, mothers, fathers, children, friends, boyfriends, strangers, affair partners, roommates, and etc.

The stories of the crimes are charged with ire feelings, love, avarice, unconsciousness state, envy, jealous, hate, revenge, illegal substances consumption, traumas, complicity and self-defense; to name a few.

In many narrations, the criminal females describe their lives before being behind bars. Some women have not had any previous traumatic experiences, but some others describe a childhood environment full of abuse, beatings, poverty, abandon and all kind of struggles.

Women Behind Bars, was successfully released in USA by the digital cable television channel, Bio True Story; reaching other countries. For those interested in women behavior, social relations and justice systems; this TV show is an astonishing option that will leave you surprised, with your mouth open with real facts, real women, real crimes, real stories.
