WWE WrestleMania 28

Wrestelemania is the WWE's biggest pay per view of the year. Wrestelemania 28 in particular holds the highest buy rate and overall gross of any Wrestlemania thus far. The total buy rate for the event was around roughly one million, two hundred and seventeen thousand. It also set a record for the highest earning live event in the Connecticut based wrestling company's history, at just shy of nine million dollars.

Held at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, Wrestlemania 28 featured a star studded card of eight matches. Several championships were on the line, and a number of passionate feuds came to a head at the event. The matches varied in length, with the shortest being a mere eighteen seconds and the longest clocking in at thirty three minutes.

Daniel Bryan defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Sheamus in the first match. Bryan paused for a moment to kiss his girlfriend, and Sheamus used the temporary distraction to hit the champion with his Brogue Kick finisher and win the match.

The second match saw Kane and Randy Orton battle back and forth for eleven minutes, with Kane walking away victorious. The Big Show defeated Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title in the third pairing. Next, Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres were beaten by Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos.

The Undertaker kept his Wrestlemania winning streak in tact after besting Triple H in a Hell in a Cell match with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee. Following this, Team Teddy Long faced off with Team John Laurinitis. The Miz won the match for Team Laurinitis, giving John the power to run both of WWE's weekly television shows as he saw fit.

In the show's semi main event, CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Championship. The following main event saw The Rock defeating John Cena to finish out the pay per view.
