In Yukon Men season 5 episode 6, "Life on the Line," the residents of Tanana, Alaska are struggling to survive in the harsh winter conditions. With temperatures dropping to forty degrees below zero, the town is faced with a critical lack of food and fuel.
Stan Zuray is on a dangerous mission to hunt for caribou to feed the community. He must navigate treacherous terrain and fend off hungry predators to bring home a kill. Meanwhile, Joey Zuray is struggling to keep his snow machine running, as it is the only way to transport supplies to his family's trapline.
Charlie Wright and Bob Wright are also in a precarious situation, as they must travel over 30 miles on thin ice to gather wood to heat their homes. With the threat of hypothermia and falling through the ice constantly looming, the stakes are high.
In addition, there is tension between the younger and older generations of Tanana, as different ideas and methods clash in the struggle for survival. The younger residents, including Courtney Agnes and Pat Moore, advocate for modern technology and innovations to aid in hunting and trapping. However, the older residents, such as Stan and Charlie, rely on traditional methods and are skeptical of change.
