When Terry Wolfers told us Alberta Cross's homecoming show would be unbelievable, we didn't realise the bassist was being modest. Back in New York after three months of touring and armed with an arsenal of guitars and soaring, soulful melodies, the blues-rock outfit played a raucous, gutsy set for a rapturous home crowd at Bowery Ballroom.
Backed by their new, powerful band, the Brooklyn-by-way of London and Sweden duo of Wolfers and vocalist Petter Ericson Stakee; who have opened for bands like The Shins, Them Crooked Vultures, Dave Matthews Band, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club; kicked off the evening with the gritty rumblings and bristling power chords of; Crate Of Gold, followed by the pensive melodies of Lay Down.
