The humans have figured out how to inhabit Naavi bodies as a way to explore Pandora. They operate them as if they were characters in a computer game, basically using them as avatars. One human, Jake Sully, is the main character. Jake is a paraplegic in real life and his avatar character is a bodyguard for scientists doing work on Pandora. One day, while protecting the scientists, he is attacked and then rescued by Neytiri. Neytiri is a beautiful female Na'vi.
Neytiri takes Jake to the Hometree, where the Na'vi live and she introduces him to the rest of the clan. Many of the Naavi are suspicious of Jake but Neytiri believes in him. Over a period of three months, Jake and Neytiri begin to fall in love and they choose each other as life mates. The humans are furious at Jake for his betrayal and tell him they will give him legs again if he comes back to their base. Jake says no and the humans become furious, they try to kill him and destroy the Hometree. Jake disables their bulldozers and leads the Na'vi in defending themselves from the humans. Some of the Na'vi distrust Jake and they believe he is a spy. During all the fighting many Na'vi, including Neytiri's father, are killed. Jake prays to Eywa, a goddess, to help him save the Na'vi people. In the end, the humans are banished from Pandora and Jake becomes an Na'vi permanently.

James Cameron announced this week that he has plans to make four sequels to his 2009 CGI extravaganza, Avatar. Is it a case of too much, too late?

And yet, he tells MTV.com, he knows that if he makes a fourth film, it will instead be a prequel showing where it started going wrong between humans and Na'vi.
With this rumor out there and gaining steam, someone has to acknowledge this sometime. Director James Cameron has previously seemingly confirmed this, claiming he's spent the last year and a half fine-tuning the first film's software.
