Watch Battle of the Bulge

"Warner Bros.' super action show of shows!"

Director Ken Annakin released the war film Battle of the Bulge in 1965 after filming the movie in Spain. While the actual battle spanned across parts of Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg, at the times the movie is shot in on terrain that does not resemble the actual battle locations. This movie features Henry Fonda, Robert Shaw, Telly Salavas, Robert Ryan, Dana Andrews and Charles Bronson.

The film takes place in the winter months of 1964, when the Allied forces are preparing themselves to invade Germany. Adolf Hitler attempts to prevent this by ordering his army to blitz the opponents in the hopes that they will reclaim French territory. In particular, they want to take control of the major port city of Antwerp. The film is told from two different perspectives. The first perspective of the story is told through an American intelligence officer, while the second point of view is from a German Panzer Commander.

Battle of the Bulge generally received positive reviews when released, but came under fire for some of the historical inaccuracies portrayed in the film. President Dwight Eisenhower came out of retirement to talk with the media about the way that the battle was portrayed, in what he perceived to be inaccurate.

The movie runs 167 minutes and currently holds mostly positive reviews from users on many of the popular film databases.
