Watch Big Night

It’s the 1950s in New Jersey where two Italian brothers open a restaurant in the movie Big Night. Their restaurant’s name is Paradise and is run by two brothers who are in love with the possibilities the American Dream has for them, since they are newly immigrants. One brother is a superior chef who brings traditions from Italy and blends with top of the line skill to execute the perfect meal. The other brother acts as a manager for their restaurant and is excited for all that is to come with opening a new restaurant.

Unfortunately, their dream begins to fizzle as the restaurant is doing poorly and not making it financially. People are looking for “Americanized” Italian meals, not authentic ones, and they are finding exactly what they want at the Italian restaurant across the street that serves customers whatever they want. This leads the brothers to have to do what they have to do to stay afloat, even if that means gambling it all for the sake of Paradise.
