Brother Bear

"Nature Calls"

Brother Bear is a fanciful tale of a young man's (Kenai) journey to become the man he wants to be. What he wants, and what destiny has planned for him is not necessarily the same thing. When his oldest brother, Sitka, is killed by a bear, Kenai vows vengeance on the bear. Sitka the brother, in spirit form transforms his little brother into a bear to teach him that things are not always what they seem.

After being changed into s bear, Kenai finds that his priorities change. He meets Koda, who just happens to be the cub of the bear he killed. Koda finds out that Kenai is the hunter responsible for the death of his mother and runs off, leaving Kenai to re-evaluate his way of life and how he has not been the person he wants to be. He feels responsible for the small bear which is just one of the many ways in which Kenai learns to grow up and be a responsible member of his society.

Their oldest brother Sitka changes everyone back...if that is their desire...as it turns out, Kenai decides that Koda needs a brother more than his own brother Denahi does. The Canadian Moose do an excellent job of trying to steal the show.

Practical applications of computer graphics keep all spectators, young and old, in their seats totally enchanted with the vivid colors and the brisk flow of the dialogue. The visual and audio effects achieve a combination in a timeless appeal to the difficulties and choices we are all faced with at some time in our own lives. Disney has put out yet another totally enchanting movie suitable for all ages. It is a refreshing tale of hope, redemption, courage, and most of all, the love that is possible when you actually see a person as a person, and see yourself reflected in their eyes.
