"History is written in blood"

Quintus Dias, a Roman centurion, faces a journey of self-discovery within the pain of loss, and discovers camaraderie amidst betrayal; the journey is marred with savage battles at every turn as he tries to save his friends; not every enemy is foreign. Quintus may discover what being a legionary really means… With Neil Marshall as its writer, R-rated Centurion, which debuted in 2010, is warrior friendly. Based off of the legend of the Ninth Legion’s disappearance in the second century AD, this movie has few historical facts correct, making this sword-swinging, alternative history motion picture an interesting experience.

What enables this experience is its cast: Michael Fassbender plays Quintus Dias, the film’s main character, and Olga Kurylenko plays one of the main antagonists, Etain, who stops at nothing short of vengeance against the Romans.

Bloodlust, gore, political corruption, and vengeance, as well as duty, honor, and glory are rampant in this film. The film’s running time is an hour and thirty minutes; a parent or guardian should accompany children under the age of 17.
