Curly Sue

Curley Sue is a comedy about an unlikely pair of scam artists. Bill Dancer has a young daughter named Curley Sue. Together they pull off scams using Curley Sue's young charm to obtain the cash they need to get from one day to the next. One of the scams they often pull involves Bill running out in front of a car moving just slow enough to injure him without causing any real damage. In an effort to pull this prank to get some fast cash, they end up meeting a young woman named Grey. Grey is a successful lawyer who drives a Mercedes, so Bill figures she must be worth a lot of money.

Grey turns out to have a big heart and takes the injured Bill and adorable Curley Sue to her glamorous high rise apartment. While Bill is sleeping off his injury, Grey takes a shine to Curley Sue. She allows Curley Sue to take a lavish bubble bath which removes layers of dirt from the young girl. When Bill wakes up he is surprised to find they are staying in Grey's apartment. Grey also has a arrogant boyfriend named Walker, who wants nothing to do with either Bill or Curley Sue. He tries desperately to get Grey to toss the pair out of her apartment. Grey on the other hand, ends up buying several new outfits for Curley Sue and begins to develop feelings for Bill.

Bill also begins to develop romantic feelings for Grey, although he tries hard to hide them. As the story develops Bill ends up telling Grey the truth about his relationship with Curley Sue. It turns out he is not her biological father, but was a boyfriend to her real mother. He loved Sue as if she was his own daughter and couldn't bear to see her go to an orphanage after her mother died so he took her on the road with him. Ultimately, Grey has to choose between having a relationship with Walker or with Bill.
