The movie Darkness Falls in a horror film. The setting for this movie is in the town named Darkness Falls, Massachusetts. The movie tells the story of Matilda. She is a widow but liked by all the children of the town. When the children lose their teeth she would give them a coin. That earned her the nickname “Tooth Fairy.” Matilda was in a fire that left her face disfigured. She has sensitivity to sunlight and only leaves her home at night. She wears a mask to protect her face.

When the children in the town started to go missing Matilda was blamed. The adults in the town exposed her face to light and hung her. Before she died she promised to get revenge on the town. Shortly after the hanging the missing children safely returned home. The town buried Matilda and what they did to her. When a child loses the last of their baby teeth they are in grave danger if they ghost of Matilda appears.

Kyle is a teenager who loses the last one of his baby teeth. He sees Matilda in his room and shines a light on her to make her go away. The next morning everyone thinks he is crazy and he is taken to the mental hospital. Caitlin was a friend of his. Years later she contacts Kyle because her little brother Michael is afraid to sleep in the dark. Kyle believes that he has seen the ghost of Matilda and tries to warn the people in town. It is up to Kyle, Caitlin, and Michael to get rid of Matilda’s ghost. They end up luring her to the lighthouse and set her on fire. The movie ends with a child who loses his last baby tooth. It shows his mother taking the tooth and putting money under his pillow with no sign of the tooth fairy.
