Dollman, released in 1991 and directed by Albert Pyun, is an action-packed science fiction movie that takes place in both a dystopian future and another dimension. The movie follows Brick Bardo, a cop from the future who is only 13 inches tall, thanks to a matter-transporting technology. Brick is back on Earth after chasing his arch-nemesis and getting sucked into a wormhole.

Set in a crime-infested neighborhood in the Bronx, the first part of the movie introduces the audience to the gritty world Brick has arrived in. The crime boss Braxton Red, played by Jackie Earle Haley, runs the streets with an iron fist. We see him and his goons shake down the shop owners as they all scramble to pay their "protection fees." We also meet Debi Alejandro, played by Kamala Lopez, who owns a bar and is looking to stand up to Braxton and his thugs.

Brick, in his tiny form, wanders the streets until he and Debi cross paths. She witnesses his unique appearance and, after a rough start, agrees to help him. Together, they start to take on Braxton and his crew. But will they be able to stop him and his men from continuing their reign of terror?

The movie's plot becomes more intricate as Brick learns that he is now in a parallel universe. He must get back to his dimension as the technology that got him there has limited power, and he can only stay for a short amount of time. However, this new universe is also in danger, and Brick feels a responsibility to help.

Humberto Ortiz, who plays the role of Hart, is another character who helps guide Brick while in the parallel universe. He is a biologist who has his own reasons for wanting to help Brick. Together, they go on a mission to stop the evil villain, Sprug, from destroying the planet. Sprug, played by Frank Collison, is the leader of the group that attacked Hart's planet and is now leading the charge to take over this new universe as well.

As the movie progresses, Brick and his new friends face obstacles and challenges that put their strength and will to the test. There are intense action scenes with gunfights and explosions that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The visual effects are also noteworthy as they add an extra layer of believability to this dystopian world and the characters' struggles.

What sets Dollman apart from other sci-fi action movies is its clever use of perspective. The cinematography is impressive as it plays with the relative size of the characters, showing differences in height, and creating a unique point of view. It is also apparent that the filmmakers had a lot of fun with the movie's premise and did not take themselves too seriously.

Overall, Dollman is an entertaining and exciting movie that has withstood the test of time. Tim Thomerson delivers an excellent performance as Brick Bardo, and the supporting cast adds depth and personality to the film. Dollman is a must-see for fans of action and science fiction movies who enjoy unique, thought-provoking stories.

Dollman is a 1991 science fiction movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 19 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.3.
