Down to the Sea in Ships

Down To The Sea In Ships is an American silent movie set in 19th century Massachusetts, which was then the whaling capital of the world. The plot concentrates on a businessman who wants his daughter to marry a man who is both a whaler and a Quaker like he is. A scheming Chinese con artist decides to palm himself off as both so he can marry the girl. He also arranges to have her boyfriend abducted and put on a whaling ship, where he is expected to work alongside the crew.
