A full Mexican film crew headed by director Sebastián and his executive producer Costa head to the area of Cochabamba, Bolivia to shoot a film about Christopher Columbus's first voyage. They have chosen to shoot a film here because of a tight budget and the need for some cheap labor, which the Cochabamba natives are more than willing to provide. When a local named Daniel is chosen for a role in the movie, the entire project is put in jeopardy when they discover that Daniel is an activist who has been leading violent rebellions against the Bolivian government over the last few years.
