Watch Faust

Heinrich Faust is despairing scholar who is driven by a longing for becoming enlightened. He strives to understand the very nature of life and what truly makes the world go round. Driven by his burning desire for comprehension, he even stoops to the level of digging up corpses and rummages in their guts just to try and find the origin of the human soul. During this journey of seeking knowledge, Faust befriends a racketeer Mauricius, who portrays worldly version of Mephistopheles. In spite of being abnormal, Mauricius considers himself an Übermensch. Faust's obscure new friend takes him to the eerie places of their small town. Faust also catches a glimpse of the beautiful young Gretchen, and during a series of events, Faust ends up accidentally killing Gretchen's brother in a bar fight. Faust becomes obsessed with Gretchen, thinking she is what will help him find the enlightenment he has been seeking. Mauricius sees Fauts' obsession with Gretchen, and tells him he will let him have her. Only if Faust agrees to sell his soul to him.
