"Things you always thought you knew but didn't"

This documentary, based on the best-selling book by Stephen J. Dubner and Steven D. Levitt, was adapted for film by Chad Troutwine and a motley colletion of other famous documentarians including Morgan Spurlock, Alex Gibney, Heidi Ewing, Rachel Grady, and Eugene Jarecki. More like a collection of related documentaries than a single piece, "Freakonomics" covers such varied topics as business theroy, human behavior in response to marketing, and in-depth looks at the individual stories of people navigating the complexities of the modern economic world. This is done in four parts: "A Roshanda By Any Other Name," "Pure Corruption," "It's Not Always A Wonderful Life," and "Can You Bribe A 9th Grader To Succeed?" Each segment was produced by a different team to add unique perspective to the unifying topics.

Freakonomics originally debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2010 and has since become a runaway underground favorite of thinking viewers everywhere.
