George is a 2006 romantic comedy film starring Will Ferrell, Drew Barrymore, and Eugene Levy. Directed by first-time director, Mark Waters, the movie is about George (Will Ferrell), a businessman who is a workaholic and does not have time for anything outside of his job. He is a marketing executive for a company that produces sports energy drink called Boggs. He is married to his job and has no time for his family, and friends.

One day, while he is at his office, George receives an unusual greeting from his colleagues. They are all wearing bright red sweaters, and no one will explain why. Eventually, he finds out there is a trendsetter in the office named Brain (Jimmi Simpson), who started wearing the sweater, and now everyone is following. George is skeptical about the trend and believes it is not realistic. However, his boss Mr. Wiggles (Dan Hedaya) is thrilled with the idea and wants George to find a way to promote the sweater.

At home, George's wife Max (Stephanie Courtney) is frustrated with him and feels neglected. She is tired of George only focusing on his work and not spending time with her and their daughter. Max tells George she wants a divorce, and George realizes he needs to change his priorities.

George decides to try the Boggs energy drink and experiences hallucinations that lead him to believe he has a conversation with a group of Native Americans. They tell him a prophecy that he will find true love, but only if he can find a woman who has a red fluorescent light behind her. George believes the prophecy, and after a series of events, he meets a woman named Sam (Drew Barrymore) who has a red light from a nearby diner.

Sam is an eccentric and quirky girl who owns a small business of selling penguin-themed merchandise. George and Sam develop a friendship, and she inspires him to embrace his creative side. They bond over their love for the 80s band, Culture Club, and George's enthusiasm leads Sam to create a penguin hat that sings, "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?" When Mr. Wiggles hears about the hat, he sees a chance to promote Boggs by having Sam wear the hat while promoting the energy drink in a commercial.

Eugene Levy plays the role of a scientist named Dr. Keats who works for Boggs. When George tells Dr. Keats about his hallucinations, Dr. Keats is fascinated by George's experience and wants to study him. Dr. Keats discovers that the Boggs energy drink has hallucinogenic properties and wants to use it without disclosing its effects. The revelation leads George to challenge the unethical decision and value his principles over his work.

The movie is a refreshing take on romance, where the opening shot inadvertently speaks more to the rat race of modern working patterns- symbolic of the stress, anxiety and 24-hour conveyer belt-paced lifestyles that are endemic of the digital age.

Overall, George is a comedic and entertaining movie that highlights the importance of not forgetting the little things in life. The film shows that people need to take a break from work and find time for love and friendship. With a talented cast and a unique storyline, George is a feel-good movie that is sure to make audiences laugh and appreciate the simple things in life.
