The film "Hercules" is an action film about Hercules, a Greek demigod who lives his life as a sword for hire. He is the leader of a group of mercenaries. The king of Thrace seeks Hercules aid to defeat a tyrannical warlord. The king of Thrace hires Hercules to train his army in order to defend his kingdom. The film stars Dwayne Johnson (Hercules), John Hurt (King of Thrace), Rufus Sewell (Autolycus), Ian McShane (Amphiaraus), Ingrid Berdal (Atlanta), Aksel Hennie (Tydeus) and Reece Ritchie (lolaus).

The film is based on the book "Hercules: The Thracian Wars" written by Steve Moore and Admira Wijaya. The screenplay was written by Ryan J. Conda and Evan Spiliotopoulos, and directed by Brett Ratner. The running time for the film is approximately 98 minutes. The budget for the film was $100 million and it grossed $136 million in theaters. The movie was released on July 25, 2014.
