"The Weekend has Landed!"

Human Traffic, which takes place in Wales, is about 1990s counter-culture. It is the story of five good friends who slave at mundane jobs during the week and then go clubbing together on the weekend. The movie is filmed with many realistic shots set to music, such as cruising through the city at night. Each character has a poignancy to his or her story: First, there is Jip who has feelings of inadequacy because of issues with his mother. His best friend, Koop, would like to be a famous DJ; however, he is held back by worries over his father who is a paranoid schizophrenic in a home. Koop himself exhibits paranoia related to trusting his girlfriend, Nina. Nina, an intelligent girl, quits her job as a fast-food worker and wishes to go to college to study philosophy. Nina’s best girlfriend, Lulu, is an independent young woman who tries to convince herself that it is okay being single. Finally, there is Moff who is the least connected to reality and responsibility.

The young people want to go to their sold-out Asylum club on Saturday night, but they are short one ticket. Jip asks Moff to get an extra one. When they meet in front of the club, Moff admits that he has lost the extra ticket. Jip saves the day by lying his way into the club to see the tough-guy owner, and he concocts a delightfully crazy story. As he leaves the owner’s office, he slips into the club unseen and meets up with his friends.

They all have a fabulous time dancing and sharing deep thoughts with each other. They end up at someone’s house for an after-clubbing party. Jip and Lulu realize that they have been friends for a long time and that they were meant for each other, but they just didn’t know it.
