Pride Rock was a flat, giant boulder that stretched from the mountainside and reached toward the sunrise. It served as a standing place for Mufasa, master of the jungle, the Lion King. While in the plain on a hunt, a stampede of Wildebeest cut through the canyon and trapped Mufasa and his son Simba. The dusty earth rose into the air and engulfed the plain. Simba, the cub, watched as his father Mufasa loosed his grip from a dangling branch and was lost in the melee. The Lion King had fallen.

Confused and saddened, Simba hanged his head and wept. Just then, a pinch-eyed lion named Scar took the opportunity to convince the vulnerable cub that he bore guilt for what happened to his father.

Simba deserted is rightful place as Lion King and left Pride Rock in shame. Would he return and take his rightful place as king or would scar steal the throne in the absence of the true heir to the throne?

This delightful story includes a cast of colorful characters whom Simba meets as he journeys through the jungle and through his growth into maturity.
