Watch Just Cause

Bobby Earl Ferguson (Blair Underwood), a black man, sits behind Florida bars waiting for the carrying out of his death sentence as an avid Harvard professor, Paul Armstrong (Sean Connery), opposed to the death penalty, comes to his defense determined to prove his innocence in a rape/murder case of a white girl. As the investigation to the case is a reopened, new evidence surfaces indicating the possibilities of having the wrong guy as Ferguson tells Armstrong that another death row inmate named Blair Sullivan (Ed Harris) committed the crime and that there was evidence to prove it.

In pursuit of the truth, Armstrong sends Police investigator Tanny Brown (Laurence Fishburne) into a tailspin as the emerging professor defends and holds Ferguson as innocent based on the new evidence.

Never questioning his gut feeling, Brown, tasked with cleaning the streets of hardened criminals, is still convinced that Ferguson is guilty and lectures Armstrong for going to the mat to prove Ferguson’s innocence.
