A mother of a 10-year-old girl is addicted to cocaine and unable to properly take care of her daughter, Eugenia. Florence is more like a child than her child is and Eugenia is forced to take on the role of caregiver to her inadequate mother. The struggles of such a relationship play out as the little girl loves her mother the only way she can; by raising her instead of the other way around.
