This movie is mainly focused on two amateur superheroes named Hit Girl and Kick Ass. When Kick Ass and Hit Girl were last seen they were working hard to live their lives like normal teenagers would. They called themselves Mindy and Dave. However, with graduation right around the corner, Dave was unsure of what to do, and so he decides to create a team of superheroes with Mindy. Sadly, Mindy ends up getting caught sneaking out dressed as hit girl, and has to retire from being Hit girl. Now she has to face the cruel and mean girls of high school all by herself.

Meanwhile, Dave decides that since he cannot start a team with Mindy, he is going to join another team of superheroes called Justice Forever. Justice Forever is led by the Colonel Stars and Stripes. As Kick Ass joins them anf goes on patrol with them, they are soon hunted down by the evil Red Mist. These superheroes face being destroyed because the only person who can defeat this evil Red Mist is the one and only assassin Hit girl. Now, they must either face the Red Mist on their own or get Hit Girl out of retirement.
