Lean on Me

"Eastside High was out of control...until Joe Clark took it back."

This movie starts with a principal who was given an unruly school that was predominately African American. The kids were used to parents not in their lives and faced a huge obstacle. The school was on academic probation and this principal was called in to turn this school around and get them off academic probation. The parents of this school did not like how he ran things. He was tough on the students and he didn't just focus on grades alone. He wanted to be a part of every aspect of these kids' lives as he said that this had an influence in how well they did in their studies.

The parents actually had him removed after he chained the doors to the school. The fire department said that this was a safety concern. However, the principal was tired of gangs and other outside rift raft coming inside his school and disrupting the learning that was going on and putting everyone in jeopardy. He was even put in jail.
