Love Jones

"Get Together. Fall Apart. Start Over."

Love Jones is a romantic comedy starring Nia Long and Larenz Tate. They both are artistic people. Nina Mosley is a photographer, and Darius Lovehall is a poet and a writer. They both are feed up with their current working situation. Darius decides to quit his job and satisify his passion to write a novel. Nina is just as ambitious, and she quits her job as an assitant to no caring fashion photographer.

Nina nor Darius are looking for love. Nina has just ended her relationship with her finance, and Darius is known as a womanzier. However in a twist of fate love finds and joins Nina and Darius together. There first encounter is at the Sancutary. Darius and his friends Sheila, Hollywood, Eddie, and Savon are frequent visitors at the poet location.

They are introduced over a spilled drink by Darius on Nina. When it is Darius' time to speak on stage he creates a seductive poem title Blues for Nina. The poem talks about sex, and Nina informs Darius love is a more interesting topic. Darius is smitten by Nina. Darius sees Nina again this time at a record shop. He tries to impress her with his knowledge of jazz and the blues. He gets her address off of one of her checks.

Darius arrives at her door with the cd she was looking for. Nina tries to deny her growing feelings, but eventually the two fall head over heals in love with eachother. Everything looks great for the new couple until Nina's ex-finace Marvin returns and wants to pick things up where they left off. Nina is confuse, but she decides to return back to New York with Marvin.

Darius is lost with her decision, but he moves on dating women just to pass the time. Nina and Marvin does not work out, and she returns to Chicago. Through trials and tribulations Nina and Darius reunite at the Sancutary with Nina citing a poem about love remembered.
