New York, I Love You

"Every moment... love begins."

The 2008 movie, New York, I Love You is a drama that has eleven short films put together for one large movie. All of the films have a different director and they are all based on the subject of love. The short movies all take place in the NYC boroughs. This film was a sequel to the film Paris, je t'aime, which received rave reviews in 2006. Though this was a highly anticipated film, it received mixed reviews from critics. Most reviews were based on the fact that this sequel was lackluster when compared to the first movie. This film was the debut of A lister Scarlett Johansson’s directing career. The pieces are tangled together into a solitary feature through a recurring character, a videographer who intermingles with the other people. The cast has quite a few large names, all of which lend an astonishing amount of legitimacy to these humorous, creative little stories.
