Oh, Saigon

Oh, Saigon follows director Doan Hoang and her family after Saigon is overtaken in the Vietnam War. Throughout the documentary, Hoang attempts to reunite her separated family. That goal proves difficult as her family members are split on both sides of the war. Nam, Doan's father, takes her and part of their family to Kentucky in the United States.

Unfortunately, her older brother is a communist soldier, and a half-sister has been left in Vietnam. The autobiographical film shows Doan's struggles to see her family reunited once again, while simultaneously showing the effects of the Vietnam War from her family's point of view.
